Stroud's (soph) Peyton Davis points to the 200M Dash school record she broke on Tuedsa

Stroud, OK – The annual Route 66 Conference Track Meet took place on Tuesday for local junior high and high school athletes. In the girls 100-meter dash, Stroud’s (soph) Peyton Davis (the defending 2A State Champion) placed first in the event with a time of 12.26 seconds, while Chandler’s (junior) Cali Hilgenfeld placed second in a time of 12.41 seconds. Stroud’s Davis secured a first place finish in the girls’ 200-meter dash with a time of 26.20 seconds, which set a new school record in the event. Davis broke a 43-year-old (Stroud High School) record that was previously set by Barbara Seibel in 1981 at a regional track meet in the time of 26.3 seconds. In the 100-meter hurdles, Davis also took first place in a time of 15.51 seconds, which was 0.36 seconds away from tying a school record set by the 2023 state 100-meter hurdle champion, Kileigh Mixon, last year at the OSSAA Class 2A State Track Meet.

The Chandler girls relay team was dominant in the 4x100, 4x200, and 4x400 meter relays. In the relays, Chandler submitted a time of 51.03 seconds in the 4x100 meter relay, 1:49.75 seconds in the 4x200 meter relay, and 4:19.28 seconds in the 4x400 meter relay (which was a season best). Chandler’s (senior) Carson Jackson placed first in the 400-meter dash in a time of 1:02.47 seconds. The Chandler Lady Lions won the conference meet with a team total score of 127 points.

In the high school boys, events, Chandler’s (junior) Cruz Jackson won the 400-meter dash in a time of 51.13 seconds, setting a personal record for the season, and Chandler’s (senior) James Duncan came in a close second with a time of 51.33 seconds. Duncan took home a pair of gold medals in the 110-meter hurdles (completing in 14.41 seconds) and the 300-meter hurdles (finishing at 44.09 seconds), while Stroud’s (soph) Jacob Beck took second place with a time of 47.65 seconds.

Chandler’s 4x400-meter relay team took first place in the event with a time of 3:46.40 seconds in the boys’ competition. Stroud’s (senior) Andrew Clovis placed first in the pole vault with a mark of 13’ 06.” In the boys’ discus, Chandler’s (senior) Kaden Grubbs threw 134’ 02” to secure first place, while also setting a personal record on the season. The Chandler Lions finished behind Seminole to take second place overall with a team total score of 112 points.
