Chandler (Sr.) Tiffany Thompson
Shawnee: 19 high schools from classes 6A–2A took part in the Oklahoma Baptist University Invitational Track Meet on Tuesday, April 9th. The meet was divided into two divisions: large school (6A–5A) and small school (4A and below). Chandler Track competed in the small school division, featuring the boys and girls track team and an individual competitor from Meeker High School. The Chandler girls won the meet with a team score of 126 points, and the Chandler boys placed third with a team score of 82 points.
Chandler (Fr.) Brooklyn Hammons
In the girls competition, (senior) Carson Jackson, (fresh) Brooklyn Hammons, (soph) Lexi Martzall, and (junior) Cali Hilgenfeld won the 4x100 relay in a time of 50.97 seconds (SB), the 4x200 relay in a time of 1:49.45 seconds (SB), and the 4x400 relay in a time of 4:19.49 seconds (SB). Chandler’s Hilgenfeld won the 100-meter dash in a time of 12.68 seconds. (Fresh) Blakeli Smith won the high jump with a jump of 4’8.” (Senior) Tiffany Thompson won the shot put event with a throw of 32 feet and 01.00 inches. Meeker (senior) Autumn Ingram competed individually at the meet and placed second in the 300 hurdles in a time of 51.34 seconds and third in the 100 meter dash in a time of 13.20 seconds.
Chandler (Sr.) James Duncan
In the boys competition, (senior) James Duncan won the 110 high hurdles in a time of 14.33 seconds (PR) and the 300 hurdles in a time of 39.50 seconds (PR). Chandler (senior) Kaden Grubbs placed second in the shot put with a throw of 43 feet and 06.00 inches and placed third in the discus with a throw of 121 feet and 4 inches (PR), while (fresh) Eli Smithey took third with a throw of 42 feet and 10 inches (PR) and fourth in the discus with a mark of 115 feet and 5 inches (PR). (Soph) Taigan Gardner placed fourth in the 1600 meter run in a time of 5:20.56 seconds, and (soph) Scotty Ray and Braiden Findley, (junior) Cruz Jackson, and (senior) James Duncan (of Chandler) took fourth in the boys 4x400 relay with a time of 3:48.44 seconds.
Meeker (Sr.) Autumn Ingram
Chandler Track will compete again on Saturday April 13, 2024, at the annual Route 66 Classic High School Track Meet, at Chandler High School. Field events will begin at 9:45 am and the running events will begin at 10:00 am.
